Bio: Gina's story starts the same as many of her client's. She was a working woman, starting her family and found herself trapped in a life where she spent all of her time caring for others. She loved her work with babies and children in the pediatrician's office. She couldn't wait to hold and nurture those precious little kids. As she had the first of her three children she dedicated all of her life and time to her own kids.
As much as she loved her kids she soon realized that she needed to dedicate
some time to herself. At 27-years-old she was 240 pounds and her doctor said
she had the health of a 75 year old. Like most of us she had joined gyms and
vowed to take off the weight before but she didn't know where to begin. On her
fourth membership she really felt as though the environment was right for her.
No one had faith that she was going to stick to it so she made a promise to
herself. "Get in here everyday for a year and see the difference it makes!"
One year, 365 workouts and 80 pounds later, Gina's life was changed. She continued
to workout, change her diet and learn eveything she could about staying healthy.
She ulimately lost 127 pounds and found so much satifaction in health and wellness
that she became a personal trainer. "I really want to see women lose weight,"
says Gina. "Their success is so important to me. I know what it feels like to
look in the mirror and not feel good about myself. But I also know that when
you make those lifestyle changes and see progress that looking in the mirror
can be a source of pride and confidence."
"Working out is not about achieving some ideal body weight. It is about getting to the right weight for you. It is about feeling good enough to play outdoors with your kids. It is about staying healthy enough to know that your even going to live long enough to be there for your kids."
Gina found a place to workout that felt safe, supportive and conducive to her
success. She feels that way about Eli's Studio at Strength Fitness. The smaller,
more intimate feeling of a studio makes you feel welcome. It's almost like a
second family when you walk in and know people who are both trainers and clients.
Gina is proud of the work she does and the work of her fellow trainers. "A trainer
has to be there for you," she says. "It is not just a matter of them showing
up for the scheduled appointment but they need to be there for you in their
heart. Not just when they feel like it but everytime you show up to workout.
That's what I do for my clients."
